A three-second window

Three Seconds Back is an interactive time experiment about a focused question: what changes when the previous three seconds can be taken back? The limit keeps the idea centered on the most recent part of an interaction.

What you can do

The experiment calls itself “a one-button time trial.” Tap to jump when you release, hold to rewind up to three seconds, then release to write a new future. The control works with the spacebar, mouse, or touch; Escape pauses the trial.

Distinctive interaction

Jumping and rewinding share the same control. The length of a press decides whether to commit the next move or revisit the moments that led to it.
